Leading Us Through the Wilderness

This morning my wife and I were discussing her morning Bible study about the original Passover and Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt. During our discussion, it occurred to me that the situation we find ourselves in here in America is a lot like the one Moses and the Israelites found themselves in under the Egyptians. The Egyptians, in a simplistic way, equate to the power centers in America today. We have the financial power focused on the East coast and the technical empires on the West Coast and middle America lies almost forgotten between the two coasts.

Like the Israelites, Americans have found hope and promise in a new leader. The current power structure is not happy with this leader because he threatens their world of amoral hedonistic unimpeded sovereignty. The common American has been asked to “make more bricks with less straw,”—that is, the shrinking middle class has been ask to live on less and less income, while the lower classes have disappeared into deeper poverty, drugs and violence.

Out of this malaise a leader has emerged and like Moses he comes from those in power and again like Moses he is not without sin nor is he perfect. However, I believe he has been chosen to lead us back to our core values as a nation. The journey to the hypothetical “Promise Land” will not be easy. I am sure there will be cries like. “at least as slaves we could eat,” and I am sure there will be back sliding and revolt along the way, but we are on a clear path to make American great again and even more importantly, we are on a course to put the United States back under the grace of God.

The man chosen to lead us on this Journey is Donald J. Trump—he needs all our prayers and support.
